Le Carnivores Tour de 30 Seconds to Mars et Linkin Park

Two of rock's biggest bands, Linkin Park and 30 Seconds to Mars, are hitting the road for a co-headlining tour this summer, it was announced Tuesday morning at a Hollywood press conference. Joining the groups on what has been dubbed the Carnivores Tour will be special guest act AFI.

The 25-date tour kicks off Aug. 8 in West Palm Beach, Fla. with stops in Tampa, Montreal, Chicago, Houston and Denver, among other cities across North America. Carnivores stops at the Hollywood Bowl on Sept. 15 and wraps things up Sept. 19 in Concord, Calif.

Live Nation announced that tickets begin going on sale Friday.

A minute-long trailer for the tour features a British narrator and assorted live scenes, paired with some of the bands' more anthemic hits, including Linkin Park's "Numb" and 30 Seconds to Mars' "The Kill (Bury Me)."

The tour's announcement extends an eventful week for Mars frontman Jared Leto, who won best supporting actor at Sunday's Academy Awards for his role in "Dallas Buyers Club." In his acceptance speech, the artist name-checked 30STM, as well as his brother Shannon, who plays drums in the group.
